The Beacon City School District serves the City of Beacon and parts of the Towns of Fishkill and Wappinger, and is composed of four elementary schools, Rom bout Middle School, and Beacon High School. ABOUT THE POSITION:
Beacon High School is seeking a New York State-certified Earth and Space Sciences teacher. This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Anticipated teaching assignment is two sections of Regents Earth and Space Sciences, two sections of Regents Earth and Space Sciences Lab; and one section of a Physical Science elective. Candidates with experience and/or interest in teaching Regents-level Integrated Co-Teaching classes are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse learning needs
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and a growth mindset
• Use data-driven instruction to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies
• Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues regarding academic progress
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletic programs when possible
