Job Description

(Mon – Fri, 6 hours at Elementary School, 6.5 hours at Secondary Level)

 

This position is responsible for the preparation and cooking of a variety of foods. Work is carried out in accordance with established procedures and involves the preparation of an entire meal or part of a meal. The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level employee. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel.

Per Civil Service Job Description for Cook:

Minimum qualifications: 

• Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma and six (6) months of experience as a food service helper; and
• One (1) year experience which primarily involved the preparation, cooking and storage of large quantities of food.
