Position Summary:

Rombout Middle School is seeking a New York State certified Special Education Teacher to provide 2 hours per week of Consultant Teacher Services (Indirect) for a 7th-grade student in accordance with NYSED Part 200 Regulations.

Indirect consultant teacher services involve working collaboratively with the student’s general education teachers to support instructional planning, modifications, and implementation of IEP goals. The consultant teacher does not work directly with the student but instead consults with instructional staff to ensure the student's educational needs are met within the general education setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide indirect special education support by consulting with the student’s general education teachers.
• Assist in implementing the student’s IEP accommodations and modifications.
• Collaborate with instructional staff to develop strategies that promote academic success and access to curriculum.
• Monitor the effectiveness of supports and make recommendations as needed.
• Maintain required documentation and communication logs in compliance with NYSED Part 200 regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS certification in Students with Disabilities 
• Knowledge of and experience with NYSED Part 200 Regulations.
• Experience in providing consultant teacher services preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

 

Compensation per BTA Contract / Prorated based on FTE
