ELEMENTARY TEACHER – 6^TH GRADE MATH

 (Rombout Middle School)

 

Description:

This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Certification in Childhood Education Grades 1-6, required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:
  • NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment;
  • Knowledge and/or prior experience with curriculum planning and development of elementary courses;
  • Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;
  • Differentiated instruction to support the needs of diverse learners in the classroom;
  • Culturally responsive instructional practices for elementary classrooms;
  • Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;
  • Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress;
  • Effective strategies for student and family engagement;
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, required;
• Prior teaching experience preferred;
• Background in Math curriculum preferred.
