Rombout Middle School is seeking a New York State certified World Language Teacher. This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year.

 

Valid NYS Certification In Languages Other Than English (LOTE) Grades 7-12: Spanish or Italian;

 

Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:

  • Regents curriculum for Spanish or Italian for grades 7-12;
  • Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;
  • Differentiated instruction to support the needs of diverse learners in the classroom;
  • Culturally responsive instructional practices for secondary classrooms;
  • Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;
  • Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress;
  • Effective strategies for student and family engagement;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required;
  • Prior teaching experience desired.

PROBATIONARY ELEMENTARY SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

 

Anticipated Placements: Glenham Elementary and South Avenue Elementary

 

Position Overview: The Beacon City School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidates are committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborates well with colleagues and families, and maintains a student-centered approach to instruction and behavior support.

 

Please note: The Beacon City School District anticipates multiple Elementary Special Education Teacher openings for the 2026–2027 school year. The number, location, and specific assignment of positions will be determined based on student enrollment, programmatic needs, scheduling, and staffing considerations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and ensure students' access to the curriculum.
  • Conduct assessments and progress monitoring to track student growth and inform instructional decisions.
  • Develop, write, and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance with NYS regulations and timelines.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for home support.
  • Participate in CSE meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and building-level RTI/MTSS processes.
  • Maintain clear documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with district and state policies.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that promotes student independence and success.
  • Preferred experience with inclusive and/or self-contained settings, knowledge of multisensory instructional strategies, familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations, strong understanding of RTI/MTSS frameworks.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid New York State teaching certification in Students with Disabilities—Birth–Grade 2, Grades 1–6, or All Grades.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with IEP development software and data collection systems

HIGH SCHOOL ELA TEACHER

 

Anticipated Placement: Beacon High School

 

Beacon High School is seeking a New York State certified English Language Arts Teacher. This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned ELA instruction across multiple grade levels;
  • Teach varied course load that may include general education, honors, and/or co-taught sections, adjusting instruction to meet the needs of all learners;
  • Differentiate instruction and materials to support students across a wide range of reading levels, learning needs, and language backgrounds;
  • Design engaging, text-rich units that incorporate a range of literary and informational texts, with attention to diverse voices and perspectives;
  • Participate actively in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide literacy initiatives;
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletic programs when possible.
